With summer now in the rear view mirror, and festival season becoming a distant memory, the east coast and Midwest are preparing for yet another jam-packed (no pun intended) schedule of touring acts to come through just about any city you can think of. Of these acts, Asheville-based jamtronica quintet, Papadosio, are already in the midst of a fall tour spanning both coasts in support of their recently released studio album, “Content Coma”. One of the most anticipated legs of the tour will see the band return to their geological roots with a two night Thanksgiving weekend run in Columbus and Pittsburgh. Building off of the immense success of this years Resonance Music and Arts Festival (presented by Essential Productions in partnership with Papadosio), as well as the new album, Papadosio’s return to Columbus and Pittsburgh for Thanksgiving is looking to be one of the most illuminating weekends in the Midwest this fall.

Formed in the late 2000s, Papadosio have become pioneers of jamtronica, seamlessly integrating robust instrumentation with electronically produced textures and sounds, to create a unique pallet within the realms of improvisational space rock, and beyond. Papadosio have toured extensively throughout the country in recent years, always improving and expanding on written material, as well as diversifying the improvisational aspect of their live performances to bring a truly unique experience to every stop on tour. Although Papadosio now reside in Asheville, NC, their roots are in Southern Ohio. The short distance between Pittsburgh and Columbus has opened the door for local bands to build devoted fan bases in both cities, which Papadosio have done. In recent years especially, Papadosio’s paid homage to their extensive fan base in Ohio by hosting Earth Night in Columbus in 2016, headlining Resonance Music and Arts Festival (conveniently located between Pittsburgh and Columbus), and playing a two night run at the Winter Werkout this past February, to name a few. Papadosio’s upcoming Thanksgiving run will take them back to Columbus once again, as well as back to Pittsburgh for the first time in a little over two years.

The Rex Theater, Pittsburgh, PA

The first night of Papadosio’s Thanksgiving run will take place at the Newport Music Hall in Columbus, OH. Chicago up-and-comers, Mungion, will be opening up the night with their unique blend of fusion progressive-jazz and psychedelic improvised rock. The Pittsburgh show is set on Saturday, November 24th, and will see Papadosio make their return to the south sides Rex Theater, a venue they haven’t played in nearly 5 years. LITZ will join Papadosio in Pittsburgh, bringing their high-energy blend of funk, jam, and psychedelic rock. Anticipation is running high for both shows, and even though holiday weekend may find some people out of town with their families, chances are this Thanksgiving Run will be some of the highest energy shows to hit Pittsburgh and Columbus this fall. Don’t miss out, and come give thanks for some the tastiest jams this fall.
