Appalachian Jamwich presents The Mad Tea Party Jam, taking place June 15-18, 2017, at Four Quarters Farm in Artemas, PA, has announced their initial lineup on February 14th, 2017. The Valentine’s Day announcement is to symbolize the promoters’ love for each other, their attendees, and everyone who is involved with the annual festival.
The initial lineup includes 3 nights of Papadosio, 2 nights of TAUK, 3 nights of BIG Something, an Electric Love Machine Led Zeppelin Tribute set, 2 sets from Spafford, 2 nights of LITZ, and Porky’s Groove Machine. This will be many bands’ return to the festival, but the first year that Papadosio will be in attendance for all three nights. They will not be playing any other festival that same weekend.
“9 years ago I proposed to Elise, over a candlelit dinner,” says Taco Olmstead, co-founder. “Two years later we were married on the banks of the Potomac River, surrounded by family and friends. The theme of the wedding was Alice in Wonderland, so began a yearly celebration.” Founders Elise and Taco Olmstead will be celebrating their 7th wedding anniversary this year. The festival is not just a lineup, but an experience marked by love, community, and creativity.
The festival also falls on the weekend of the 50th anniversary of the Monterey Pop Festival, which was said to kick of the “Summer of Love,” which will be the theme for this year’s Mad Tea Party Jam. “We hope it truly kicks off a summer filled with love for everyone who attends,” says Elise.
2017 will be the second year Mad Tea Party Jam takes place at Four Quarters Interfaith in Artemas, PA. This premiere venue is nestled in a hundred year-old forest fostered by the Interfaith owners and members who have immense respect for the land.
