– Music, Art, Culture, and Movement Festival –
Miami, FL – Miami-based concert promotion company Massive Ideas has just released their first round artist announcement for Fractal Beach 2018 – set to return to the Historic Virginia Key Beach Park in Miami, Florida, from February 2nd – 4th. This will be the team’s second year organizing the three-day festival which, beyond the live and electronic music lineup that boast headlining names such as Papadosio and Thirftworks, includes beachfront camping, state-of-the-art sound, stage, and lighting design, ongoing yoga and movement workshops, interactive art installations and live painting from a roster of preeminent visionary artists, along with an interdisciplinary schedule of educational workshops and discussion panels from leading subject matter experts across a variety of culturally-engaging and thought-provocative fields.
In a previous interview with Eric Garcia of The Miami New Times, Founder and Creative Director Anders Sherberger expanded on the inspiration for Fractal Beach:
“Fractal Beach is modeled after other “transformational festivals” like Lightning in a Bottle, Symbiosis, Shambhala, and Envision. The idea is to mix yoga, music, workshops, and tons of amazing art to create something that’s more than an event; it’s a container for change. We’re excited to bring South Florida its first transformational festival.”
Leading up to Fractal Beach, Sherberger/Massive Ideas will be teaming up with Dubday – MIA to throw their second annual installment of Fractal Basel in Wynwood on Friday, December 8th, featuring a headlining set from electronic producer CharlestheFirst. In similar fashion to Fractal Beach and staying in theme with Art Basel – Miami’s world-renowned annual contemporary art show – Fractal Basel’s offering incorporates both music and live/interactive art for audiences who may not prefer the typical South Beach club atmosphere.
