SUNDAY MAY 20TH 3-10pm – Mark your calendars!
MADD TIKI SPRING LUAU yearly event returns to Buffalo RiverWorks, this will be the first “Spring” indoor/outdoor luau with a massive lineup of bands, DJs , a custom car show, fire performers, live artists, beach games, bounce house, laser light/fog and projection room aka “The Lava Lounge “ where Buffalo based videographer and virtual DJ N3WT will be premiering footage from the on-going Hawaiian volcanoes’ eruption that he had to be evacuated from this week because of lava and sulfur risks. This is a national debut of an ongoing series of videos of natural disasters, with plans on releases in the future with superstar dj slobbanozzle (who’s rumored to be flying into Buffalo for this event).
The event will also serve as a season opening event for Queen city Tuk Tuk and Buffalo Tiki Tour ($15 dollar ride specials), plus the unveiling of the brand new Buffalo Tractor Tours. RiverWorks will also have their zip lines open for only $10 where you can race your partner tandem, plus more activities like rock walls, kayak rentals and water bike options.
The Madd Tiki Spring Luau is based as much on music (live bands and DJs) as it is on performance art. The festival will incorporate professional dance acts, fire spinners, live art performances, vendors and beach game activities for the kids, as well as music, performers (limbo, hula hoopers, fire performers, body painters, etc.) and ever-present activities and eye candy. The Luau encourages festive dress beach wear hula, tacky tourism or Polynesian prince and princesses. Those dressed best will all walk away with a variety of costume contest prizes including $200 dollars in gift certificates from Maddtat2.com
The luau is teaming up with Music is Art to encourage participants to bring new or used instruments to the instrument drive. A portion of online sales are also going to benefit the the MIA festival coming up in September (that was a huge success at RiverWorks last year) to be placed into the hands of aspiring young musicians in the WNY community and giving the winner of the MIA/Rock for Ryan High School battle of the bands an opportunity to play on the Main stage at the luau . Tiki Tour Boats will also be pushing their Drive Against Diabetes organization and raffling tickets to win a Harley Davidson motorcycle.
