Festival season in here and in full swing. With tons of festivals to choose from this weekend, where will you find yourself?
The 9th annual Domefest returns to Fort Royale Farm in Bedford, PA and is SOLD OUT. Attendees will be enjoying five unique sets from Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, as well as performance by Broccoli Samurai, Cycles, The Magic Beans, The Fritz, Flux Capacitor and many more. Refresh your mind and body in the morning at with some yoga, hone your musical abilities at the effects pedal workshop, practice your hula hooping skills, attend poetry readings, learn about fire safety and much, much more throughout the weekend. Though tickets are sold out, you may be able to find some being sold on the Facebook event page by independent sellers. Camping is included in your ticket price, however, parking passes must be purchased separately. The more people you show up with in your car, the less you pay for parking. Feel free to BYOB, just remember that glass bottles/containers are prohibited within the festival. When your flying with the flock, there’s no place like DOME.
Progress Festival, a small music and arts festival that celebrates undiscovered artists’ work, will be at the Highland Farm in Dublin, VA this Friday through Sunday. Progress Festival encourages artists to be creative and express themselves, and to not be afraid of expectations in order to create an original experience. Some of the acts on the bill include Lionize, Of Tomorrow, Jonah Tolchin, Dharmsoul, and yOya. Tickets at the gate will only set you back a mere $65, and purchasing online before the event will even save you a few bucks. Come enjoy up and coming musicians, local, organic farm fresh food and beautiful faces at this year’s Progress Festival.
This Tuesday stop by Gypsy Sally’s in Washington, DC for Gordon Sterling Presents: The Gypsy Sally’s Jam. Musicians of all types are encouraged to place their name in buckets assigned to certain instruments for the chance to take part in a completely improvised musical experiment. If your name is picked out the bunch, you’re up! There’s no telling where the night will go. Come be a part of something truly special. Amps and drums will be provided, just bring your instrument.
Umphrey’s Mcgee
Umphrey’s McGee has a few stops in the area this week, with shows in New York, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island. Check them out this Thursday at the Paper Mill Island Amphitheatre, Friday at the Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom, and Saturday at The Strand.
TAUK
Check out TAUK this weekend at the Brooklyn Bowl. With shows both Friday and Saturday night, there isn’t much reason not to show up. Friday night JAW GEMS will grace the stage before TAUK takes the wheel. Saturday night, enjoy an opening performance by Joe Hertler & The Rainbow Seekers.
