It’s always nice to see small festivals pop up in my backyard and even better when it’s full of music from a genre different than the usual jam band fests. Boondocks Music Festival in Boonsboro, MD next weekend Sep 28 & 29 offers Southern rock, country, folk & bluegrass music in a family friendly setting. Headliner Whiskey Myers has been described as “a modern day Lynyrd Skynyrd” and other bands like Jason Boland & The Stragglers offer their unique blend of country.
Music is on Friday and Saturday night, Friday starting off at 6PM to allow most people to get off work and head down to the fest (gates open at 5PM). Music on Saturday starts at noon and ends with Whiskey Myers set at 8:30 which will probably run until 10PM. RV spots are sold out but there are still limited tent camping spaces available, so reserve yours ASAP!
Boondocks Music Festival thanks our troops by offering free 2-day admission to active duty military, just register on the website. The festival also has a goal to donate $5,000 to the Wounded Warrior Project, which you can donate to on their website or at the festival. Tickets are only $15 for Friday, $25 for Saturday, or $35 for the whole weekend, so there’s no excuse to miss the music. Kids 12 & under are free and there will be food and craft vendors to peruse while you listen!
