Seeds of Sound Music Arts and Healing Festival is coming up next week October 4-7th at the beautiful Oasis Family Farm in Sparta, GA. Run by a group of friends (upward of 12) and creatives, the intention is to co-create harmoniously, and of course, have lots of fun. Organizer Jennifer says “we do this for us, the creators” and is a celebration of multiple communities as well as an opportunity to throw a party for each other to enjoy.
The festival in its second year and was founded in 2017 by Anthony Prince and Jennifer ‘Uncle Jenny’ Edouard. They stopped at in AirBnb in Sparta and became friends with the Oasis Family tribe. This tribe in combination with tribes from other festivals like Friendship Festival, Alphapalooza, and Sigh in July is the conglomeration that came to be Seeds of Sound. Jennifer excitedly recalls how supportive Friendship Music Festival has been of their endeavors, which she worked as volunteer director this year.
The musical lineup includes jamtronica band Universal Sigh playing a special Radiohead set, “space funk” band Space Kadet, Voodoo Visionary & Friends, Misnomer, Indee Killed the Pop Star, and many more. Besides music, you can enjoy workshops including acro yoga and lectures with Katrina Bell, a talented healer. When asked if there would be art, Jennifer explained that “art is not just visual art,” art is in the music and the collaboration. We are all artists and our given skill is our medium.
