What’s up, readers? Schools are back in session, the sun is setting sooner, and we’re starting to experience some relief from the summer temperatures. The season may be winding down, but that doesn’t mean that you need to do the same. There are still plenty of opportunities to see live music this week. No plans? No problem! Here’s what’s up.
One Family Productions is proud to present Front Porch Fest, which is being held this weekend at Spirithaven Farm in Stuart, VA. Spirithaven Farm is a family-owned and operated business, situated on 160 acres of lakes, hiking trails, and other breath-taking landscapes that are worth exploring. Over the past decade Front Porch Fest and Spirithaven Farm have donated over $20,000 to local charities and although their mission continues to grow, the festival strives to maintain its grassroots, family-friendly vibe that made it so popular in the first place. Live entertainment for the weekend will be provided by Donna The Buffalo, The Larry Keel Experience, Dangermuffin, The Lee Boys, Dr.Bacon, Yarn, Fireside Collective, and many more amazing musicians! Weekend passes for the event are currently on sale for $120, or can be purchased at the gate for $130. Each car will be charged a $5 parking fee, so make sure to carpool in order to reduce your carbon footprint, and save yourself a bit of cash. More info can be found here.
The kind, and crazy folks over at Nelson Ledges Quarry Park in Garrettsville, OH are up to it again! This weekend marks one of the grooviest fests of the year and also serves as the annual Lotus family gathering. That’s right! It’s time for Summerdance 2019! Everyone’s favorite instrumental electronic jam band, Lotus, will be performing a total of six live sets throughout the weekend, with support from great bands like Start Making Sense, Moon Hooch, Luke the Knife, Cut Chemist, Wax Future, Paris_Monster, Patrick Richards (ft. Mike Greenfield), and Kitana. Don’t forget your swimsuit at home and miss out on the awesome opportunity to swim in the spring-fed, super clear and ultra-refreshing quarry. Weekend passes are on sale for $140 if you purchase in advance, or $160 at the gate the day of the event (this prices includes parking, and camping as well). Where will you be when Karnival comes to town? Head on over to the Ukranian Homestead in Lehighton, PA this weekend for a one-of-a-kind experience at Karnival of the Arts, presented by Kollective Grounds. Play your favorite carnivals games and compete for the best prizes all weekend long! Don’t spend all your time one the games though! Save time to check out some amazing live performances from Kung Fu, Consider the Source, DJ Logic & Friends, Paris_Monster, West End Blend, Gnarbot, Higher Education, The Phyrg, and several other mind-blowing acts. Online ticket sales for the event have ended, however, we have confirmed that there are still some weekend passes that will be available for purchase at the gate for $95.
