North Beach Music Festival made its official debut yesterday, bringing seven sets of music on two stages to the heart of downtown Miami, FL. Fittingly, the day was kicked off by Florida locals The Heavy Pets on the Bandshell Stage and by Tand and then Electric Kif on the event’s side stage, the Park Stage.
As the sun went down, the heat stayed around—in both the air and in the music. “It’s a family affair!” Funny enough, this line was spoken by Greg Ormont of Pigeons Playing Ping Pong and Joey Porter of The Motet separately.
Both The Motet and Pigeons Playing Ping Pong invited members from the other to guests in their sets, and as an added surprise, the former horn section of Turkuaz joined them both, along with Jennifer Hartwick and Shira Elias.
Below, check out a quick gallery of photos from North Beach Music Festival day one. Today commences the second and final day of the festival, seeing two headlining sets from Spafford, as well as sets from Eric Krasno, Aqueous, Marco Benevento, and more.
