May Daze 2015 is poised to be a hot ticket for this weekend, eagerly awaited by many of southwest Ohio’s avid music fans that endured a painfully long and cold winter.  Now in its 4th year, May Daze has quickly established itself as a Spring staple among festival goers.  This year’s edition features two nights of headlining sets by heavy-hitting hippie-metal trio Glostik Willy.  Having played together since their early teenage years, the group has performed as Glostik Willy since 2008 – their cohesive psychedelic hard-rock approach to the jam genre is sure to whip up a frenzy each night.

In addition to a blistering evening funk session from Magic Jackson, Friday night also features one of Ohio’s favorite party bands, Boogie Matrix, as they kick off their final festival season with a late night set.  They’ve been working hard, and plan to make it a memorable show for their Dayton/Cincinnati fanbase.  DJ Manimal will be a making his festival debut at 3:45am.

Saturday afternoon is dominated by different flavors of reggae, with Cincinnati’s Elementree Livity Project, WILL C and F.A.M.I.L.Y. of Yellow Springs, and Cleveland’s Tropidelic.  Warming up for Saturday’s headliners will be Subterranean, an air-tight jazz/funk outfit comprised of well-respected Dayton music veterans.

Following Glostik Willy’s sundown set (look for some special guests to join them), McLovins bring the funk all the way from Hartford, CT.  Having played all over the east coast, these young musicians have become widely known for their improvisational chops.  ethosine will keep it going with Cincinnati livetronica, followed by Yosemight, a band that has roared out of northeastern Ohio in the past year, quickly gaining a following in Ohio’s densely-packed jam scene.

Those who stay up to burn the way-past-midnight oil on Saturday will get to enjoy Creation Station, the solo percussion project of Justin Musgrave, better known as Cheech.  He’ll be weaving and layering acoustic drums to create a one-man drum circle with his famously-fast hands, followed by a community drum circle.  Be sure to bring your drums to join in.

May Daze will be held at the VFW Campgrounds in Franklin, OH.  Camping is available and included in the ticket price.  Presale tickets are still available for $65, and $85 at the gate.  Laughing Sam Productions wishes to remind guests that there are no dogs, no glass, and NO NITROUS welcome at this festival, though hugs are free and hula hoops are encouraged.
