Announcing the Inaugural Furry Friends Festival!
A music and arts festival to benefit local animal charities
PITTSBORO, NC – On Saturday, November 7, the inaugural Furry Friends Festival will be held at the Shakori Hills festival site in Pittsboro, NC to raise money and awareness for numerous local animal rescue and rehabilitation charities. From 11 a.m. to midnight a wide variety of first-rate rock, bluegrass, folk and world music acts will perform, followed by an all-star after-midnight acoustic jam session.
Musical acts include Crystal Bright & the Silver Hands, Urban Soil, Fireside Collective, Sol Flo, Barefoot Wade, Spank, the Tennessee Jed Band, Mason Via & Friends, and Jed Fisher & Friends. John Saylor is the MC and DJ Red Spinach will be spinning tunes. Fire spinners will light up the night as aerial silk performers, hula hoopers and more circus artists demonstrate their amazing skills. There will be food trucks with delicious vegetarian and vegan options, arts and crafts vendors, a photo booth, and auctions and raffles for great items.
The beneficiaries of the inaugural festival are 4 animal-related charities in Chatham, Orange, and Wake counties dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating dogs, cats, wildlife, farm animals and exotic animals. Beneficiaries include All Breed Animal Rescue of the Carolinas (ABARC), Chatham Animal Rescue & Education (CARE), CLAWS, and Piedmont Farm Animal Refuge. Adoptable animals will be at the festival for people to meet.
“We’re thrilled to have such a great collection of musicians and circus performers joining together to support the animals. We hope this becomes a regular event,” says festival co-producer Kevin M. James.
Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 at the gate. Kids 12 and under are free, and all tickets include free parking and overnight camping. More information is available at www.furryfriendsfestival.com.
